Bardot Brasserie in Vegas.

Bardot Brasserie is in the heart of the Vegas Strip, but when you get there you feel you are in the heart of a Parisian café, with all the details and award-winning kitchen from Chef Michael Mina and Chef Nick Dugan.

A brasserie is a type of french restaurant that is supposed to have a relaxed setting, serving lunch and other meals. The word is also french for “brewery”, as in the past beer was brewed on the premises, not brought there.

A brasserie is expected to have professional service and a printed menu, white linen, (unlike a bistro), and it is open from Wednesday to Sunday, serving the same menu all day. Anthony Bourdain said that one of his favorite dishes was a brasserie-classic: the steak frites, one of the most authentic and familiar dishes you can find.

Bardot Brasserie is in the heart of the Vegas Strip, but when you get there you feel you are in the heart of a Parisian café, with all the details and award-winning kitchen from Chef Michael Mina and Chef Nick Dugan. It is a modern interpretation of a traditional brasserie, including french onion soup and brunch classics as Croque Madam (et Monsieur!).

All the wood and bronze details, the mosaic floor and beautiful lightning wherever you look to gives you a nice setup for that experience you are going to have, and the careful attention of the staff: maitre, waiters, makes the experience of enjoying this extraordinary cuisine perfectly complete.

I suggest myself the Steak Tartare and/or something for the Raw Bar (I ordered a Petit, with oysters, clams, shrimp and half maine lobster tail), and their Beef Wellington version, “Bardot Wellington” that serves two and is a perfectly cooked 12oz prime filet mignon, wrapped with bayonne ham, a delicate duxelles black truffle purée and of course buttery puff pastry.

Of course they serve Steak Frites, Tournedos Rossini and all other traditional french menu stars.

So you know, when in Vegas, make a reservation to enjoy this fantastic brasserie and make the trip complete.
